Clean Water Guide for ZED ZONE | ZED ZONE Wiki

Use the Cooking Hob to clean contaminated water, then organize a travel supply and inspect recipe costs in the current interface.

Make Clean Water with the Cooking Hob

When a container holds contaminated water, use a Cooking Hob to process it before drinking. Place the hob on top of a fireplace through Build > Production, then interact with the workstation and select the water-cleaning recipe. The Cooking Hob entry identifies this station as the way to turn contaminated water into clean water. The exact recipe inputs and quantities are not confirmed here, so follow the ingredients shown in your current crafting panel instead of spending supplies based on a guessed formula.

Keep an empty container available before starting. Move the dirty water into the station only when the hob is ready, and check the output slot after the process finishes. Put the clean water back into a bottle or another container before leaving the base. If the recipe is unavailable, inspect the station placement and its displayed requirements first; do not assume that a campfire alone performs the same process as a Cooking Hob.

Set Up the Work Area Safely

Place the fireplace and hob inside a sheltered base, away from doors and the path used to move loot. Store empty bottles and contaminated water together so the next trip to the workstation is quick. Leave room around the station for its interaction menu and output container. This simple layout reduces the chance of leaving a water stack behind while sorting food, medicine, and crafting materials.

The Steam description presents ZED ZONE as a survival game built around gathering materials, crafting supplies, and establishing shelters. Use that loop to plan hydration: bring water home, process it in a batch, and carry a clean reserve when leaving the base. Keep a separate bottle for travel rather than moving the whole stored supply into your inventory before every outing.

Keep Hydration Predictable

Before a long exploration run, check that you have at least one clean drink and a spare container. Refill the reserve whenever you return to base, then leave the next batch near the Cooking Hob. A written note beside your storage labels can help distinguish dirty water from clean water when several containers look alike.

If a recipe changes after an update, trust the ingredients and output shown in the live crafting interface. Avoid testing unknown ingredients with your last bottle of clean water. With a dedicated workstation, labeled storage, and a small travel reserve, water processing becomes a repeatable base task rather than an emergency search during a trip.
